The interactions of 2-ferrocenylmethylidene—diketones and -ketoesters with 1,4-dinitrogen nucleophiles were investigated. In 2-ferrocenylmethy-lidene—dicarbonyl compounds, a novel process for breaking the C=C multiple bond is discovered. The structures of the target compounds [2-ferrocenylbenzimidazoles, 2-(ferrocenylmethylidenamino)anilines, 2-amino-3-(ferrocenylmethylidenamino)pyridines, 4-amino-5-(ferrocenylmethylidenamino)pyrimidine, aluminium complexes with -dicarbonyl compounds] are determined using IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy
