ACCEPTABILITY OF CHILD ADOPTION IN NIGERIA: A SOCIAL WORK APPROACH | Journal of Global Research in

The high prevalence of infertility in Nigeria has turned into a serious public health issue with far-reaching social and psychological ramifications for those who are affected. In light of this, this research looks on the acceptability of child adoption in Nigeria. The research was conducted in Aba North Local Government Area of Abia State, Nigeria, using a survey research design. The data was evaluated using basic percentages and frequency distribution tables, and a sample of 193 respondents was chosen using a simple random sampling procedure. Even though 64.8 percent of respondents agreed that child adoption will save many lives, the majority of respondents were unable to accept it. Social workers should attempt to eliminate the circumstances that prevent people from achieving their goals.
