ANALYSIS OF PRADHAN MANTRI KISAN SAMMAN NIDHI (PM-KISAN) SCHEME: WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO HARYANA
The Indian economy is based on agriculture. A major portion of the Indian population relies on agriculture and related activities to make a living. The Indian government is constantly attempting to improve the agricultural sector by implementing several initiatives, one of which is the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme. It is the government's main project for doubling farmers' income since it stabilises their income, allowing them to adopt high-yielding variety seeds and contemporary agricultural technologies to increase production. The PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi plan, which was implemented in India, is examined in this study: With special relevance to the state of Haryana. We used secondary data from the Indian government's various reports and the PM Kisan Yojana dashboard for this. The study employed descriptive statistical methods such as tables, charts, percentages, and growth rates. The study's findings revealed that PM-Kisan is a large-scale initiative capable of producing considerable results. It is a positive move forward for the Indian government in terms of stabilising farmer income. The amount provided to farmers under the PM-Kisan arrangement, on the other hand, is insufficient. The researchers proposed that the amount should be sufficient in terms of living standard for policy implications.
