ANALYTICAL CALCULATION OF ULTRAVIOLET FLUENCE RATE IN A PHOTOREACTOR FOR THE DISINFECTION OF WATER..
The use of ultraviolet (UV) to disinfect water in a photochemical reactor with a diffusely radiating cylinder of unlimited length as a source of UV is considered. The relationship between fluence rate and radiating cylinder diameter is investigated analytically. The extreme situation is depicted, with the radiating cylinder diameter approaching zero. The fluence rate for finite and infinite length cylinders is compared using the "effective interval." The Chebushev approach is recommended for numerical integration in fluence rate estimations.
