CHEMICAL SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY BEHAVIOUR OF POLY(2- CHLORO.....
Using HCl as a dopant and ammonium persulphate as an initiator, this work focuses on the chemical synthesis and characterisation of poly(2-chloro aniline-co-2-methoxy aniline) - mix - sodium alginate (poly(OCA-co—OMA)/NaAlg). When compared to the pure copolymer, the synthesised copolymer blend is soluble in DMSO, DMF, and CHCl3, and has better thermal and electrical properties. The blend is characterised using FTIR and UV-Vis Spectroscopy, XRD, TGA, and DSC. The particle size is in the nanoscale range, according to the Debye Scherrer equation. The electrical conductivity of the poly(2-chloroaniline–co-2-methoxy aniline)/NaAlg blend is 2.15x10-4Scm-1, which is semiconducting.
