Elicitors are chemicals that encourage the synthesis of secondary metabolite products in plant cell cultures, allowing for faster product concentrations and larger culture volumes. The use of polysaccharide type elicitor as a plant growth stimulator is intriguing because it is a widely available and largely regarded material that is both safe for humans and the environment. On PLB cultures of Cymbidium finlaysonianum and Cymbidium dayanum, a combination of two elicitors, hyaluronic acid (HA9) and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine (NAG), was utilised.
