DC-AC CONDUCTIVITY BEHAVIORS OF Poly (2-methoxy aniline-co-2-chloro aniline) AND Poly (2-methoxy ...

Poly (2-methoxy aniline-co-2-chloro aniline)-composite-clay (poly (OMA-co-OCA)/clay) was synthesised using an emulsion polymerization method with K2Cr2O7 as an oxidant, sodium lauryl sulphate as a surfactant, and HCl as a dopant, and was named poly (OMA-co-OCA)-1 and poly(OM FTIR, UV-visible, TGA-DTA, XRD, and 1H NMR were used to analyse the produced copolymer and its composite. The four point probe method was used to investigate the dc-ac electrical conductivity. The conductivity of poly (OMA-co-OCA)-2 is higher than that of poly (OMA-co-OCA)-1. The capacitance behaviour is illustrated by the dielectric spectra and dielectric loss spectra. Both the copolymer and the composite are semiconductors, with the copolymer composite having a higher conductivity than the copolymer. In poly (OMA-co-OCA)-2, the Eac estimated from the Arrhenius plot is the lowest. The rate of polymerization is explored, as well as the electron hopping mechanism.
