DETERMINATION OF CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF BRANDS OF MOSQUITO COILS | Journal of Applied Chemical ...
The purpose of this study was to determine the chemical content of several mosquito coil brands and their smoke. Cl, N, and S were found in the coil and smoke samples, but not in the remaining ash, according to qualitative examination of anions. Aldehydes and esters were detected in the coils, and aldehydes and esters were found in the smoke. The remaining ash did not include any of these functional groups. Nitrogen, Chloride, Cyanide, Sulphur, and Phosphorus were all found in various quantities in the quantitative studies. The O-H, C-F, C-O, C-H, and C-N functional groups were found in all samples, indicating that the coils contain identical components. The findings show that long-term exposure to the coils under investigation will be harmful to users' health. As a result, it is recommended that users use the coils in well-ventilated areas, among other things.
