DISEASES DETECTION AND CLASSIFICATION OF AFFECTED PART OF PLANT LEAVES | Journal of Global Agri....
The scientific study of plant illnesses caused by pathogens and environmental factors is known as plant pathology. It covers pathogen identification, disease cycles, economic effects, and plant disease management, among other topics. Previously, spectroscopic techniques were employed to detect illnesses. These techniques are exceedingly expensive, and they can only be used by people who have been trained in them. To address these issues, disease diagnosis utilising the ELM (Extreme Learning Machine) technique has been developed. To begin, a sample leaf image is provided as input. The colour channels are then extracted from the leaf image, and the green pixels from the original image are masked. The masking is done to prevent the green portion of the leaves from being processed because it is healthy. The residual infected area is estimated by subtracting the green area from the initial area. The impacted area's features are then retrieved. Finally, the ELM is given these characteristics in order to classify the condition. Following the discovery of the disease, the solution is sent to the relevant user's cell phone through GSM.
