EFFECT OF CLAY AND GOETHITE MINERAL SYSTEMS ON THE REMOVAL OF MERCURY FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTION PART....

Clay and goethite mineral systems were studied to see how they affected mercury removal. The batch mode experiment was carried out at room temperature (22°C). During the mercury removal procedure, reactivity experiments revealed substantial amounts of protonation. These proton coefficients, however, were less than 2. Two-phase reactions were discovered through kinetic research. Outer sphere complexation and inner sphere complexation were connected to these chemical stages. There was very little intra-particle diffusion. When comparing the first and second reaction phases, the mass transfer rate was larger in the first reaction phase.
