EFFECT OF DIMETHYLBENZYLDODECYLAMMONIUM BROMIDE ON THE STRUCTURE REGULARITY OF MESOPOROUS SILICA MCM
Two synthesis methods A and B were used to make mesoporous silica MCM-41 using the surfactant dimethylbenzyldodecylammonium bromide as a structure-directing agent. A is a sol-gel synthesis method, while B is a sol-gel synthesis method with heat conditions and salt addition (potassium iodide). X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy were used to analyse the materials. Simple sol-gel did not create a regular hexagonal structure, according to the findings. Method B, on the other hand, produced hexagonal mesoporous silica MCM-41 by utilising cationic surfactant with bulky head groups.
