EFFECT OF TILLAGE AND FERTILIZER DOSES ON SUNFLOWER (Helianthus annuus L.) YIELD IN THE SOUTHERN ...

During the Rabi season of 2020-2021, an experiment was done at the Regional Agricultural Research Station, BARI, Rahmatpur, Barishal Bangladesh to reduce the cost of farming in Bangladesh's southern region. T1F1= Recommended dose for conventional tillage (farmers practise), T1F2= 75 percent RDF for conventional tillage (farmers practise), T1F3= 125 percent RDF for conventional tillage (farmers practise), T2F1= Power Tiller Operated Seeder for conventional tillage (farmers practise). T2F2= Power Tiller Operated Seeder, T2F3= Power Tiller Operated Seeder, T2F4= Power Tiller Operated Seeder, T2F5= Power Tiller Operated Seeder, T2F6= Power Tiller Operated Seeder, T2F7= Power Tiller On December 27, 2020, 125 percent of seeds were sown using the line sowing method at a seed rate of 12 kg/ha. The interaction of tillage method and fertiliser dose was found to have a substantial impact on unfilled seeds/head, thousand seed weight, seed yield/plot, and yield/ha. Treatment T1F3 (Conventional tillage 125 percent of RDF combination (188.49 nos) had the most unfilled seeds/head, while treatment (Strip tillage 125 percent of RDF combination (188.49 nos) had the least (62.63 nos). Treatment T2F2, which used a power tiller to run a seeder and 75 percent RDF (65.10 gm), had the highest thousand seed weight, whereas treatment T3F2, which used a strip tillage method and 75 percent RDF, had the lowest (46.90 gm). Seed yield/plot was significantly affected by the treatment combination. The PTOS method's treatment interaction The treatment combination of PTOS technique RDF, which was marked as T2F1 (7.20 kg), gave the maximum seed yield/plot, which was statistically equal to the 75 percent RDF, which was indicated as T2F2 (7.20 kg) (7.16 kg). The treatment with strip tillage and 75 percent RDF produced the lowest seed yield/plot, which was denoted as T3F2 (5.34 kg). The overall yield was highest in the PTOS method's treatment interaction with 75% RDF, which indicates T2F2 (1.79 kg/ha) was statistically similar to the PTOS method's T2F1 (1.78 kg/ha) treatment interaction with RDF. Strip tillage method treatment interaction produced the lowest total yield, with T3F2 (1.32 kg/ha) signifying 75 percent RDF. In terms of yield and economics, treatment T2F2 could be employed for sunflower (BARI Surjomukhi-3) cultivation in the Ganges Tidal Floodplain.
