EXPLORING THE GENETIC POTENTIAL OF DIFFERENT CULTIVARS OF MUNGBEAN UNDER VARIED NITROGEN RATES AT ..

In the year 2013, field tests were conducted at Lasbela University of Agriculture, Water and Marine Sciences in Uthal to investigate the genetic potential of several Mungbean cultivars under various nitrogen rates in tropical conditions. The experiment was set up in a randomised full block design with three replications and a net plot size of 1.5 m 2 m, with 30 cm row to row spacing and 10 cm plant to plant spacing. The experiment included four mungbean genotypes: V1 (NM-2011), V2 (Chakwal-2006), V3 (Azri-2006), and V4 (NM-2006), as well as three nitrogen rates: N1 (Control), N2 (20 kg N ha-1) and N3 (20 kg N ha-1) (40 kg N ha-1). The results revealed that nodulation per plant, plant height, seed output, and harvest index differed significantly across genotypes and between nitrogen rates. In comparison to other treatments, F3 (40 kg N ha-1) produced the most nodulation, plant height, and seed output in V1 (NM-2011).
