FOREST PRODUCT DISTRIBUTION IN HALKHORIYA COLLABORATIVE FOREST MANAGEMENT OF BARA DISTRICT | .....
Collaborative Forest Management (CFM) is a method of sustainable forest management that involves working with local people to achieve numerous goals such as ecological balance, economic rewards, and improved livelihood from government-managed forests. This study used data from five key informants and fifty families to examine the forest product distribution pattern in the collaborative forest of Bara district in central Terai. The information gathered was examined qualitatively and quantitatively before being presented in tables. The findings revealed that distant users demanded more lumber, but nearby users demanded more pole and fuel-wood. Subsidies for the poor and Dalits are not provided. It is recommended that resource allocation patterns be based on equity, and that plantation projects be implemented to relieve strain in the core forest.
