GAMMA IRRADIATION EFFECT ON STRUCTURAL PROPERTIES OF COPPER DOPED POLYSTYRENE FILMS | Journal....

FTIR spectroscopy was used to explore the structure of pure polystyrene doped with varied ratios (10, 15, 20, and 25) Wt percent copper before and after 200 rad Gamma irradiation in this study. All of the examples were made using the casting method. FTIR spectra clearly show the effect of adding copper and gamma irradiation. After irradiation, the CH2 wagging and C-H stretch aliphatic bands vanished. AFM micrographs were also collected to show the roughness and grain size of the samples.
