GENETIC VARIATION IN SOME YIELD TRAITS IN BARLEY (Hordeum vulgare L.) | Journal of Global Agricultu
The genetic variance in some yield parameters was assessed using a group of 60 highly homozygous barley lines. The experimental design was a two-replication randomised complete design. Plant height (PH), spike length (SL), days to flowering (DTF), and chlorophyll content were all measured (CC). For all qualities, the data showed a lot of genetic diversity between genotypes. The genotypic correlation outperformed the phenotypic correlation. PH and SL had the strongest genotypic (0.35) and phenotypic (0.27) connection. DTF had the highest heritability, which varied from 58.34 to 79.02 for CC. These findings point to the possibility of improving yield attributes in barley through breeding programme selection.
