GOAT MILK PRODUCTION AND MARKETING IN TURKEY | Journal of Global Agriculture and Ecology
Turkey is one of the world's goat-raising countries, with a goat population of 10.42 million in 2015. Turkey's goats contribute significantly to the country's meat and milk production. In recent years, the private sector has made significant investments in this economic activity. The main goal of this research is to look at the structure of goat milk production and commercialization in Turkey from 2006 to 2015 and make some solutions for difficulties. FAOSTAT and TurkStat were used to gather statistical data for the study. The information gathered has been presented in tables using percentage and index calculations. Goat breeding will make significant contributions at the regional and national level if technical and economic challenges faced by farmers are solved through short- and long-term safeguards. Turkey, on the other hand, will be able to compete with other countries if the safety product variety to be exported is expanded.
