GREEN SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF SILVER NANOPARTICLES USING Calotropis procera EXTRACT .....

The green synthesis of silver nanoparticles (Ag-np) was studied utilising leaves extract from Calotropis Porocera. Instead of using sodium borohydride solution as a reducing and stabilising agent, Calotropis procera extract was used. Ultraviolet-Visible (UV-VIS) Spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Scanning and Transmission Electron Microscopy (SEM and TEM), and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX) were used to analyse Ag-np (EDX). The wavelength for the production of Ag-np was 420 nm in the UV-VIS spectrum. The form and size of the nanoparticles were represented by SEM and TEM, while the elemental analysis and relative abundance of each element in the nanoparticles were revealed by EDX. This study demonstrates the efficacy and reality of using a low-cost, environmentally friendly extract as a primary precursor in the synthesis of Ag nanoparticles.
