IMPACT OF SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONES ON INDIAN ECONOMY | Journal of Economics and Trade

The current study aims to investigate the current state of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in India, as well as the investment in SEZs and employment produced by SEZs. According to the study's results, India had 223 functioning SEZs as of March 31, 2018. In terms of job creation, SEZs employed about 18,42,512 people between February 2006 and March 31, 2018. Apart from this, SEZs have drawn significant investment due to a variety of incentives and services available to SEZ firms. In summary, the findings show that SEZs have played an essential role in attracting FDI and creating jobs in the country.
