INVESTIGATION INTO THE HAEMATOLOGICAL PARAMETERS OF ALBINO RATS FED WITH Rana galamensis–BASED DIET
The goal of this study is to see if a Rana galamensis-based diet could be used as an alternative source of protein for animal feed by looking at the haematological parameters of albino rats.
The research was conducted at the University of Ilorin's Biochemistry Department, Faculty of Science, in Ilorin, Kwara State. The investigation lasted eight weeks.
Sixteen albino rats weighing 29.15 to 26.01 g were placed into two groups of eight each. For 8 weeks, animals in group A were fed a casein–based diet (control), while animals in group B were fed an R. galamensis–based diet. Packed Cell Volume (PCV), Red Blood Count (RBC), Haemoglobin (Hb), White Blood Cell (WBC), Platelet, and Mean Corpuscular Volume are all haematological measures.
