KINETIC ASPECTS OF 3, 4 dihydropyrano[c]chromenes FORMATION IN THE PRESENCE OF DIFFERENT CATALYSTS..

In the presence of 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO) and sodium acetate as a catalyst, a kinetic investigation of the reaction between benzaldehyde, malononitrile, and 4-hydroxycoumarin compounds has been established spectrally. The reaction followed a second order rate law based on the experiment data. The rate law derived from the mechanism was consistent with the rate law observed. The findings revealed that the reaction mechanism's initial step was a rate-determining step. The effects of catalysts, solvent, concentration, and functional group (structural influence) on reaction rate were studied in the lab and offered significant information on the reaction process.
