Because Piliostigma malabaricum is utilised in traditional herbal cures for ailments, this study used gas chromatography-mass spectrometry to investigate its leaf and flower contents. Each of the leaf and flower extracts included twenty-two components. Fatty acids made up 79.32% of the leaf, followed by hydrocarbons (6.63%), aldehyde (3.78%), amide (2.91%), ester (2.36%), alkaloids (1.72%), phosphate ester (1.27%), cyclic ether (1.04%), and alcohol (1.04%). (0.98 percent ). Fatty acids made up 81.54 percent of the flower, whereas ester made up 5.79 percent, alkaloids made up 3.62 percent, aldehyde made up 3.01 percent, hydrocarbons made up 2.44 percent, amide made up 2.17 percent, ketone made up 1.28 percent, and alcohol made up 1.28 percent (0.15 percent ). The extracts reduced the development of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus to a degree comparable to that of gentamycin, a commonly used antibacterial drug. The flower extract was shown to be more effective than the leaf extract at killing germs. The use of P. malabaricum in traditional herbal therapies is supported by this study.
