MACRO AND MICRO-PHYTODERMIC SEASONAL CHARACTERS OF WILD Ruta species (Ruta montana, Ruta chalepensis
The foliar epidermis stomatal variety parameters (type, shape, size, and orientation) are extremely useful in plant systematic and taxonomic studies. The micro-phytodermics distinctive changes in Ruta species' leaves are little understood. So, how does this phenomenon relate to the physiological responses of organisms in relation to their environment?
A comparative macro and micromorphological study of leaves of three Ruta species (Ruta montana (Clus.) L., Ruta chalepensis subsp. latifolia (Salisb.) Lindb., and Ruta chalepensis subsp. angustifolia (Pers.) P. Cout.) was carried out under distinct bio-climates in north-western Algeria. A macromorphological investigation of shape and surface structure was conducted. The optical microscope images (micromorphology) were captured with a Zeiss Axio Lab.1 microscope at 40x and 10x magnification.
