MODERATING EFFECT OF BOARD INDEPENDENCE ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CAPITAL STRUCTURE AND PROFITABIL
Due to the lack of consensus on the link between capital structure and profitability throughout the world, a moderating component must be included to enhance the association. As a result, this research examines the impact of board independence on the link between capital structure and profitability of listed industrial products businesses in Nigeria from 2006 to 2018. The study's population includes all twenty-one (21) industrial products businesses registered on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) as of December 2018. The sample for the study is made up of ten (10) firms. The study used recorded data from the sampled firms' annual reports and accounts. The data was initially analysed using descriptive statistics to provide summary statistics.
