NANOSILVER AS GROWTH PROMOTER: EFFECTS ON INTESTINAL MORPHOLOGY, MICROBIAL POPULATION AND GROWTH PER

The goal of this study was to see how various growth boosters affected the morphology, microbial population, and growth performance of Japanese quail. A total of 240 5-day-old quails (Coturnix coturnix japonica) were randomly allocated to one of four experimental diets over the course of 40 days. Each diet contained four replications, each with 15 quails. Control diets (no growth boosters), control diet with formaycine (150 ppm), nano-Ag (30 ppm), or virginamaycin were used (150 ppm). Quails fed diets containing various growth boosters gained more weight and consumed more feed than control quails (P0.05). Diets containing nano-Ag and control had the largest and lowest villi heights, respectively (P0.05). When compared to non-nano-Ag diets, crypt depth decreased.
