POLYACRYLAMIDE-ALGINATE COATED HYDROGEL BEADS AS PROTEIN DELIVERY .......

Alginate beads were coated with polycations polymer to limit fast drug release from alginate beads in simulated intestinal medium. For the first time, polyacrylamide (PAM) was chosen and examined as a coating material for controlling the release of BSA as a protein drug model. The purpose of this work was to investigate the behaviour of BSA released from polycations-coated alginate beads. The effect of covering alginate beads in both wet and dry states on release behaviour was discussed. It was discovered that as the coating time increased, so did the BSA release. The appropriate kinetics model for BSA release has been created, and the kinetics parameters have been computed. As a result of the coating process with Polyacrylamide, the release order of BSA has been modified from first order in the case of uncoated beads to zero order.
