PREPARATION AND in vitro RELEASE STUDY OF IBUPROFEN-LOADED MODIFIED MONTMORILLONITE USING ..........

This study uses the miniemulsion technique to create and characterise a modified drugcarrier based on montmorillonite. X-ray diffraction patterns (XRD), Fourier transformed infrared (FT-IR), and transmitting electronic microscopic imaging were used to describe the materials (TEM). The in vitro release characteristics of a model anti-inflammatory drug, Ibuprofen (IBU), were examined in phosphate buffer saline at PH 7.4 and different time intervals. The data showed that the modified montmorillonite's basal spacing rose from 4.41 nm to 4.46 nm. In vitro release tests demonstrated that IBU was consistently released from MMT.
