REMOVAL OF HEAVY METAL CADMIUM CD (II) BY ADSORPTION ONTO BIOMASS; ADSORPTION MODELS | Journal ....
Heavy metal pollution is one of the most important environmental issues today. Because of their tenacity and permanence in the environment, heavy metal remediation is of particular significance. Various strategies for removing heavy metals from wastewater have been intensively investigated in recent years. This paper examines and assesses the current approaches for treating heavy metal wastewater. Precipitation, ion-exchange, adsorption, and phytoremediation are examples of wastewater treatment technologies.
Biosorption of heavy metals is an effective wastewater treatment approach. This chapter gives a detailed overview of recent results on the performance, applications, and biosorption of heavy metals by algae. The kinetics of biosorption and equilibrium models are discussed. Finally, theoretical simulation tools for biosorption equilibrium and kinetics are offered so that readers can use them to their own research.
