SINUSOIDAL MODEL DEVELOPMENT FOR THE STUDY OF DIURNAL VARIATION OF SURFACE DISSOLVED OXYGEN FOR THE

The goal of this research is to develop a mathematical model for studying the diurnal variation of surface dissolved oxygen (DO) in Kolkata's Subhas Sarobar Lake. In order to create the mathematical model, the Fourier analysis method is used. Such a mathematical model must include a signature of the regional health of the lake's surroundings. Both the experimental and mathematical modelled data reveal that the surface temperature and surface DO of this lake water have nearly similar tendencies in their diurnal profile. Furthermore, any change in the observed diurnal fluctuation of surface DO of lake water in the future, if any, can indicate a change in the lake's regional health state. In fact, this type of modelling approach will be able to address a wide range of water resource and regional environmental challenges.
