SOLVENT EXTRACTION OF CHROMIUM (III) USING TRIBUTYLPHOSPHINE OXIDE | Journal of Applied Chemical...
Tributylphosphine Oxide (TBPO) in chloroform was used to extract chromium (III) from hydrochloric, sulphuric, nitric, and perchloric acid solutions. Nitric, hydrochloric, and sulphuric acid extractions are virtually quantitative, but perchloric acid extractions are partial. The optimum conditions were determined by adjusting the experimental parameters on the extraction, such as pH, shaking time, metal ion concentration, Tributylphosphine oxide, anion, and various diluents. The species that were extracted have been identified.
