SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF Cr(III), Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) AND Zn(II) COMPLEXES .....
The Mannich base, which was generated through condensation reaction of 3-ethyl-7-methyl-quinoxalin-2-one with piperidine in the presence of formaldehyde, was used to make new transition metal complexes of the types [M(L)2(H2O)2]Cl2, [Cr(L)2(H2O)Cl]Cl, [Ni(L)2]Cl2, and ZnLCl2. Elemental analyses, conductance measurements, and infrared, ultraviolet visible, and 1H, 13C nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy were used to describe the Mannich base and its complexes. The spectral observations suggested monomer structures with a bidentate shape. For all of the prepared compounds, an octahedral structure was proposed, however the zinc(II) complex was assigned a tetrahedral geometry. The square planer geometry was disclosed by the diamagnetic characteristics and electronic spectra of nickel(II) complex.
