SYNTHESIS AND SURFACE ACTIVITIES OF TWO NEW CHIRAL GEMINI CATIONIC SURFACTANTS | Journal of .....

L-Tartaric acid, 2-propanol, and N,N-dimethylhexadecylamine/N,N-dimethyldodecylamine were used to create two novel Gemini cationic surfactants (P1 and P2). The novel surfactants contain four hydroxyl groups, two chiral centres, and several hydrophilic chains. Surface activities were measured, and the minimum surface tensions of P1 and P2 solutions were 31.55 and 28.75 mN/m, respectively. The foam-stability and foamability measurements agree with those taken by CMC. It was discovered that the two surfactants have different superiorities for foam foamability and foam-stability.
