SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND BIOASSAY OF NANO-MANCOZEB-A SYSTEMIC CLASS OF FUNGICIDE | Journal..
Agriculture, the backbone of the global economy, was experiencing serious challenges as a result of the uncontrolled use of commercial pesticides in fields, which polluted the environment. Nanopesticides are the most effective alternative to commercial pesticides. Nano insecticides have a greater penetration power and can control a variety of diseases. In this paper, we describe a new nano mancozeb formulation that uses polypropyleneglycol as an encapsulating agent. Pade-laplace dispersion was used to determine the size of the encapsulated nano mancozeb. At 40-80 nm, the size distribution of nano mancozeb is obtained. UV-Visible spectroscopy, Fourier transform Infrared spectroscopy, Scanning electron microscope, and Transmission electron microscopy were used to characterise the samples. When compared to commercial mancozeb, the bioactivity of nano compounded mancozeb is many times higher.
