The synthesis of 2,4,5-triarylated imidazoles is produced utilising a three-component cyclocondensation of benzyl or benzoin, aldehydes, and NH4OAc as an ammonia source in ethanol under reflux employing Co(acac)2 as a catalyst. Furthermore, the protocol's utility is demonstrated in the one-pot production of 2,4,5-triarylated imidazoles in excellent yields, as well as the straightforward work-up and purification of products using the recrystallization method. The catalysts can be reused without losing much of their efficiency in successive reactions.
