SYNTHESIS, STRUCTURAL, OPTICAL AND ELECTROCHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF LSMO NANOPEROVSKITES | Journal ...
The nanostructured La0.64Sr0.36MnO3 perovskites at varied grain sizes were produced in this work using a mechanical milling approach followed by solid state reactions. X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, UV-Visible absorption spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetric experiments were used to investigate the structural, surface morphology, optical, and electrochemical properties. The pure rhombohedral phase is confirmed by the XRD pattern of the nanostructured LSMO perovskites. The SEM micrographs support the intrinsically homogeneous agglomerated spherical-like morphology with unequally distributed holes. The UV-Vis spectra demonstrate that grain size and absorption spectrum are closely connected. The PL investigation supports the semiconductor nature of the nanostructured LSMO perovskites produced. With an increase in zero current cell potential, the cyclic voltammetric investigation clearly demonstrates the semiconducting character of the produced nanoperovskites.
