THE IMPACT OF PHET INTERACTIVE SIMULATIONS AND POWERPOINT PRESENTATION SLIDE SHOW VISUALISATION ON..

The impact of a PhET interactive simulation and a PowerPoint presentation slide show visualisation on grade 10 students' understanding of chemical equation balance was explored in this study. A quasi-experimental research approach including pre-test and post-test was adopted. Simulation games were employed to train students in the experimental group, while PowerPoint presentation slides with visualisation were used in the comparison group. The PhET Interactive Simulation was shown to be more effective than the PowerPoint Presentation Slide Show Visualisation in the post-test results. Because of the equations incorporated in the PhET interactive simulation software application, it looked to operate better. While compared to the group that was taught using PowerPoint presentation slide show visualisation, the group that was taught using the PhET interactive simulation had better attitudes and higher achievement scores when learning how to balance chemical equations .
