VEGETATION STATUS AND PLANT DIVERSITY OF CHANDRABADANI OAK FOREST ALONG ANTHROPOGENIC DISTURBANCE GR
A study of the vegetative state and plant variety of an Oak forest along distinct anthropogenic disturbance gradients was conducted in Uttarakhand's Chandrabadani forest. In the examined forest, there were 89 species belonging to 38 families and 82 genera. In total, 23 species were found in the tree layer, 29 in the shrub layer, and 37 in the herb layer. In moderately and highly disturbed stands, the species richness was found to be higher. Undisturbed stands had the highest tree density, followed by moderately and highly disturbed stands, while moderately and highly disturbed stands had the highest shrub density. Moderately and highly disturbed stands have higher diversity indices than other disturbance stands.
