The paradigm shift from "trash" to "waste as a resource" allows waste to be used for economic and environmental development rather than being disposed of in landfills. Given the massive volume of waste, the type of waste, the quantity, and the indigenous people's main occupation in Delta State, there is a need to use waste to promote sustainable agricultural practises such as the production of staking poles/materials from waste plastics/polythene for the cultivation of creeping tuberous plants and vegetables such as Yam (Dioscorea spp. ), Tomatoes (Lycopersicon esculentum), Beans (Phase This would minimise overall trash generation, improve environmental sanitation and health, safeguard the environment, create jobs, and support sustainable development in Delta State.
